The Bicycle Film Festival starts next week! It sneaked up on us like 'Kamikazi' without his lucky socks on.
The first event in the festival is an exhibition curated by Brad Haylock. The line up is, phew, wow, okay. Alter studio are showing those stickers that go on bike frames. Both Tristian Ceddia and Thomas Jeppe are showing photos.

Description:
We have this image in our heads of what happened here. This is probably not true at all, but we don't care. Get your imagination moving, it's good for you. OK Schwipey was walking down Little Lonsdale Street last weekend whereupon he stumbled across the Ksubi guys propping up their weak, fluroescent-banded heads outside their Ksubi warehouse sale, with nothing to shelter themselves from the merciless sun but the giant, one-page ads they had booked in Beat magazine.

Some people see genitals in everything. The vegetable aisle, certain 'art' sculptures in Port Melbourne or simply their boss's face; the world is funnier for its phallic objects. Kate Just is one who can spot a sexual organ from miles away. When examining Hieronymus Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights she looked past the nudes with multiple legs and people stroking giant fish in the foreground and went straight for the pink fountain in the left panel.
Super heroes are a dark, twisted lot. The blessing of their powers is also a curse, forever alienating them from the rest of Earth and opening up a world of moral ambiguity unknown to us mere mortals. I never would have thought as much when I was six, playing Superman for hours on end, lost in the dizzy fantasy of being able to fly, do whatever I want and return home to an ice palace.
