For those who can't make the Spandex Parade at the first BFF screening tonight (see above), BFF and ThreeThousand bring you The Bicycle Underground. It's a low key after party of sorts. And it's a one-night only exhibition at Platform featuring work by Chris Pollack (Rebel Yell BMX Magazine), Andy White (Fyxomatosis) and Ben Richards (Crumpler).

There is nothing more regal or romantic than a wax sealed letter. Jane Austen tried countless times to come up with the literary equivalent, and despite coming close even she couldn't quite match it. They say wax seals are as old as writing itself, apparently they were used by the Pharaohs to keep correspondence top secret.

While we're all for subverting the catwalk format during LMFF, the idea of being squashed up against a grimy wall in a dimly lit subway in sweltering heat doesn't really endear itself. Which is what happened last year at Collections in the Underground, a fashion parade making use of the Degraves Street underground subway passage.

Melbourne's best baguettes at Waffle On
Ever returned home too soon from a trip to Europe and found yourself unable to adjust? Walking around in a beret and stripy t-shirt, staring at the Arts Centre spire, squinting your eyes, trying to convince yourself it's the Eiffel Tower?
Fortunately, relief is now at hand. Delicious relief. The people at Waffle On have started making baguettes, which they bake themselves.Little Cupcakes

Separately Together
Separately Together brings together (well, separately, but together) emerging artists from University of Melbourne and VCA whose work hijacks language and text for the visual arts. Throughout August they will be incubating their most personal thoughts in the exposed glass cabinets of Platform's subway space.

The Organic Food and Wine Deli (TOFWD) is Degrave’s answer to the Vic Market’s organic section, but smaller. After seven years in operation last week the store took on a whole new face (and acronym), but thankfully its insides have remained the same.
