For a number of years now, we've been telling you what we like via the internet. We tell, you read, and there's ever a deep dark cyber void in between you and us and a genuine conversation. But not for much longer. The Thousands Shop is taking the online offline, finally providing us with a hard copy space for real time conversation, collaboration and showcasing some of our favourite things in a selective retail environment (with the soon-to-be website offering a selection for online sale).

Nothing gives rise to murderous rage more than the alleged art of printmaking. Sculpture, printmaking's even-more-fucked-up cousin, sickens the world to its collective stomach, true. But it is printmaking that brings the bloodied bowie knife down over and over and over again. In a queer and fiendish twist of fate, Lauren Rigbye will be displaying her evil silkscreen prints and drawings at Curtin House's Nine on Seven Gallery tonight, in a solo show informed by "hangovers, banality, and procrastination" entitled ‘Maths and Booze'.

The first warm winds of summer seem to blow a bunch of weirdos into the city and what's worse is that it blows them up to all the rooftop bars that Melbourne now has to offer. I mean, don't these people live in basements?
This observation is not meant to offend but simply serve as a warning that from November 17 to March 27 Rooftop Cinema is the only safe rooftop experience that the CBD has to offer.
It is not easy making a comic. Here, Chris Ware gave us some advice in that regard. "RUIN: Your Life. DRAW: Cartoons! And doom yourself to: decades of grinding isolation, solipsism, and utter social disregard." I know one person who won't be talking at Semi Permanent. Anyway, brushing aside Ware's words like so many emos at a pep rally, Jeremy Ley and Abe de Bruyn have made a comic.
In high school I told the careers counsellor that I wanted to become a physiotherapist and I studied biology, chemistry and maths with a language thrown in to boost my ENTER score. If he could see me now: trying to import a product for which there is practically no market. Sourcing artist books, zines, journals and magazines while wrestling wildly with Excel spreadsheets and exchange rates.
