Description:
There's a stigma to life drawing. The models are all flaky hippies, the teachers are flaky hippies and the participants are middle aged housewives desperately trying to be flaky hippies. Basically, it's perceived as a bad scene. Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School is like the opposite of all that.

True story: we went over to the Bama-Lama MySpace to find out what their story was. Not only did we hang around for the next half hour listening to the music, we actually updated the track that plays on our (long forgotten) MySpace page. Crazy, no? Their club rights are just as ruthless.

You're getting old, we know. You remember when burlesque was a new and shocking opportunity to look at boobs without having to pay $5 every 5 minutes. Splicing unrelated things together to see what happens is always fun. Cough syrup + Red Bull, fully sick woofers + clapped out hatchback, porn + internet. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but that's all part of the fun. On that note, Sarah Lea Cheesecake is upping the splice ante by combining burlesque with Grindhouse.

Technological constraints mean we can't show you the flyer for this party, but check it out: Marawa the hula hooper is doing a back bend off a tree stump with stars painted on it, wearing sparkly aqua 4-inch heels and ruffly underpants.
