Let's face it, most magazines write about their friends anyway, so treat this not so much as a review but as a congratulations to The Temper Trap for releasing a brilliant new EP. Take it with a pinch of salt if you need to, but either way, just take it.
Their sound is both electric and hypnotising, with vocals that pull heart strings and bass lines that break guitar strings. They know how to sweat and are without a doubt one of the hardest working and most talented bands in Australia, having toured constantly and supporting a wide range of acts from Spank Rock to Damo Suzuki. Although this EP sounds different to those who know their live sound well, it is a well-considered side-step that highlights their cohesion and their song structures while still harnessing the raw energy of their performance.
The Temper Trap will launch their EP at the ThreeThousand Xmas party on Friday December 1 at Miss Libertine, 34 Franklin St, Melbourne. We are honoured to have them, and we will be honoured for our subscribers to attend.
