Don't let The Emergency's name fool you - as much as I'd love to tell you that they've packed in some air-horn, sirens and earthquake sound effects, into their new album well, I just can't. It would be a lie.

So now that we've established that, let's reposition our thinking about Dreams That Money Can Buy away from simple word association to something more complex, along the lines of, hmmm, let's say cold city streets, illegal warehouse parties and sitting on a roof watching the sun come up and stuff. It's simultaneously atmospheric and evocative as well as beautifully restrained and understated, this album feels like every vocal tic and bleep was given the extra special TLC treatment.

It's also quite the dance party but don't crack out the glow-sticks just yet - this a much more cool understated affair right here. More like lots of black, red lipstick and serious dance floor face. Yep, this album is pretty much too cool for me to hang out with, but not for me to dance - possibly drunkenly and terribly - to.
