If you've spent any time on music blogs in the past few months, you'd have heard the growing murmur about Passion Pit. The hype has built to levels rivaling fellow New England psych-poppers MGMT before they hit the mains.
Unsurprisingly, NME has gotten all fuzzy about them. This time though, it's entirely justified. Passion Pit are this year's sleeping dragon.
In fairytale circumstances, frontman Michael Angelakos wrote and recorded a bunch of music as a Valentine's Day present, and it proved to be a work of minor genius. Thanks to Neon Gold (birthed from the ashes Good Weather For Airstrikes), we are all now able to hear the euphoric, explosive, body-filling sound of Passion Pit. This is the music you need to celebrate the coming of summer.
