Sensuous
Some artists and their releases are easy to write about but Cornelius, and his latest release Sensuous, is not one of them. With so many things taking place both simultaneously and separately, the sounds contained within this album are innovative to the purist and mysterious to the novice. Experimental elements surround pop structures like seagulls surround a chip, biting through it while squawking occasionally to get attention.
Sensuous is a soundtrack of sorts, one perhaps most fitting to a Cornelius dream, a glitchy fantasy where, not unlike his live show, influences and colours can melt and listeners can be transported. Transported where? That's up to you.
