Not everyone loves getting the shit scared out of them. But for horror fans, entering into a world of terror and fear - for a quick visit - is sublime.
Welcome to Salem, the twisted crossroads where the latent evil in screwed and chopped hip-hop, '80s goth, and celestial shoegaze meet. This U.S. trio recently lit up blogs nationwide with their totally unique, satisfying sound - and sold out two EPs.
It has certainly helped their mystique that they:
1) are rarely photographed
2) utilise creepy-as-f!#k imagery and videos
3) released an EP called YES I SMOKE CRACK, and
4) one of the band's gay male members is a former prostitute and drug addict. Whoa.
Salem are the real deal, not hipster posers going for some post-black metal credible indie rock. Their sound is guaranteed to be unlike anything you've heard before.
