Is Damien DeRose a magician? Because he's certainly won me over with his magical tunes. Okay, that was lame, but it is 100% true. You honestly have to listen to the man who goes by the moniker Peasant. There are a lot of talented solo artists out there, but this guy takes the cake for the most exciting one of the lot in recent times, mainly due to his delightful voice and knack for penning gorgeous pop-folk tunes. I know, I know, I'm gushing, and I sound like I'm slightly gay for him (I'm not - I swear, honey!), but this praise is warranted.

Those Days is just one of those songs that you can't help but listen to on repeat for hours on end and is a worthy contender to represent DeRose as an almost-Elliott-Smith. Big call that may be, but those comparisons are already flying around everywhere, and rightly so. The rest of the album does nothing but to enhance DeRose's reputation as a fine craftsman of acoustic pop gems. One can only hope that this Pennsylvanian lad will trek across the ocean to meet us at an intimate venue soon.
