The Rapture, those seminal disco punk innovators, have hooked up with the incredible German label !K7 to skip the DJ kicks lineup and put out their own DJ mix entitled K7 Tapes. This obviously caused an earthshaking ‘hell yes' from within the indie underground and resulted in at least one worldwide disaster.
The Rapture are not disc jockeys though, they are a band, so don't get all hot under the collar for the mixes...just for the roster of songs. They run the gamut from hip hop, funk and soul to disco, electro, nu-rave, and even back to those terrible house anthems (old rave is an appropriate genre sub label).
Strap on those roller skates for the first half of the mix and move on to your ridiculous giant rainbow top hat that you kept just in case you wanted to rave again...it's finally acceptable! No, I was kidding, it isn't.
