The Tom Tom Club's 1981 self-titled debut is a rare nugget of bold artistic genius and its stupidly fun. Comprising of Talking Heads' rhythm section Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz on the tail of TH's Remain in Light release, the husband & wife duo formed The Tom Tom Club; a combination of 80's arty new wave, timeless funk and shambling schoolyard rap.

While the album is pickled with auspicious moments such as "L'Elephant" and "Lorelei", the dancefloor anthems "Woody Rappinghood", a delighful and addictive pumping little tribute to vernacular, and "Genius of Love", since covered by Mariah Carey as her 1995 single "Fantasy" feat. Ol' Dirty Bastard are the reasons to hunt down this dusty little treasure.
