Jasmina Krupic is one of those ‘journey' women. She trips over discoveries and welcomes accidents. And each exquisitely-crafted piece of jewellery is a tiny materialisation of her travels.
Just sitting in her studio reveals how she inhabits her workspace to allow for these journeys to unfold. It's like the impressive range of pliers are detachable fingers and when she gushes over her favourite tool - a silver cube with hollowed shapes - you get the feeling she's in the throws of a wild love affair with her art. There are etched words in the desk, empty teacups and bookshelves which suggest she's spent many-a-late night brewing over concepts for her next wearable object.
You may not be able to purchase a date with Jasmina and watch her at work. But you can purchase her jewellery there - if she can part with it, that is. Each sterling silver brooch, pendant or pair of earrings has endured careful moulding, cutting and painting to achieve precise detail and individuality.
