Ever craved delicious foodstuffs but been afraid to leave the house for fear of engaging with the general population? I have. People can be scary.
But not at Windsor Deli. It's a two minute walk from Chapel Street, but you wouldn't know it. Owned by Alan and Katrina, and frequented by a diverse and unpretentious crowd, this place is great if you want to avoid socially awkward situations.
Alan (a delightful chap) hums away while making the coffee and I settle into the cushy leather bench to peruse the uncomplicated but tasty menu. Think boiled eggs with toast soldiers, pastries, salads, soups and sweets. Chain food fans won't find a Footlong in sight at the Windsor Deli. Noooo way. The sandwiches are of normal (yet filling) proportions and the fine folk here have narrowed down their selection to a 'Top 10', which still makes for some pretty agonising decision-making.
Finally, the deli provides a smorgasbord of house-made food fun: I walked out with a tub of Brownie ice cream and Nana's Marmalade. Take you're chums there if you have any. They'll like it.
