Thai Food to Go is decorated with kookie, mis-matched home-wares including wall cabinets filled with miniature figurines and thei rprized electric garden; a shelf carrying half a dozen hypnotic, glowing plastic flower arrangements. You simply can't put a price on kitsch especially when the entrees start at $1. From curry puffs and veg springies, to $7 for fancier battered prawns. But for a real gastronomic treat, ask for the Meng Khum pictured ($1 ea). It's not on the menu, but theses explosive little parcels cleanse and tantalise with their fresh, sweet combination of ginger, chilli, peanuts, lime, coconut and dried shrimp propped on a delicate betel leaf. Mains are colourful and fresh, each padded with a generous serving of wholesome vegetables. The green curry's an aromatic delight in veg, tofu, chicken, beef ($10-12) or seafood ($14-16). The Panang stir-fried curry from the special board is also a punchy, memorable number. And if you're on the lash, drinks are available but best BYO wine (minus the brown bag) from the IGA a few stores away.
