A long time ago, amphibians crawled from the oceans on to land and evolved into humans. At about this same time Meyers Place opened and gave these creatures a space to drink and interact. Without this the human race would never have progressed, as there would have been no place to lubricate the minds, and the loins of this new species. The point is, Meyers place is where it all began, where a Melburnian first looked down a grubby laneway and decided that it would be a great place to put a bar. With a beer tap instead of a flag, the colonisation began. And today, when there should be just a drawing on a cave wall, Meyers place is still going strong, testament to its infinite lo-fi cool and its place in the heart of the locals. Meyers Place, we salute you.
