Restaurateur Nick Kutcher started Mamma's Boy because he wanted a healthy alternative to working long night shifts in hospitality. That 'better living' ethos kisses you in the face the moment you walk in the door of his new joint. It's well lit, clean, and serves refreshingly fresh food to healthy looking people - a far cry from seedy bars with even seedier patrons.
The Mamma's Boy menu is short and sweet - the breakfast menu includes fresh fruit, eggs Afghani with chilli and lime, as well as jaffles to warm you for your walk down the wind tunnel that is Little Collins.
The lunch salads are so fresh that you feel younger just eating them and the red duck with crispy shallots and coconut rice is a gem. Finish it off with an organic coffee and you might even feel good about your body in the middle of winter.
