Flavours of Lakhoum is the perfect little Moorish-inspired oasis of cool, comfort and calm. The ambiance is set with turquoise and metallic gold wallpaper, little glass lampshades which hang like coloured jewels and Middle Eastern trinkets and ceramics which adorn every available surface. Sit at long wooden tables flanked by old-worldly leather lounge sweets or take your place on a comfy couch beneath a cooling potted palm where you can sip Lebanese mountain tea and nibble somesticky Turkish delight selected from the treat cabinet.
Meals here are a delightfully overwhelming affair so arrive insatiable and ready for Portuguese frittata, grilled lamb koftas, chicken on a stick to make you weep, zucchini and feta pancakes and falafel all served with a colourful array of zesty veg and lentil-based salady goodness. Breakfast adds Turkish sausage and feta to your Saturday egg-outing and the coffee deserves the praise it's famous for.
