Rooftop Crepes
Far superior to its fat little friend the pancake, the crepe has had a long and successful cinematic career. Its lunar resemblance has made it a popular prop; indeed, crepes have featured famously in the moon landing, E.T. and Teen Wolf. From this week, Rooftop Cinema will be serving them, both sweet and savoury, both outdoors and up seven storeys, with a side menu of Piadina.

A little-known fact about ThreeThousand's editor is her pathological hatred of chickens, "alive or dead". I, on the other hand, love the little bastards - especially fried or roasted. When in Sydney, I make a pilgrimage to Clem's Chicken Shop, and if the Aussie dollar would stop crapping its pants, I would definitely dine at alluringly named Hell's Kitchen eatery, Piece Of Chicken.
Burger Monster
You shuffle out of Caledonian Lane full of cheap Coopers on a Thursday evening, and you need it. Something greasy. In your mind, you know you shouldn't, but who's to stop you? Jerome? Heh. And Ronald's den is just there in front of you on the corner. Before you know it you're inhaling one those plastic looking cheeseburgers, and a little part of you has died.

As Melbournites, we are blessed; we have some of the best food, the best coffee (no wonder all those Star*ucks are closing) and best bars. Problem is, even with all this abundant goodness sometimes the hungry hipster needs to find something new to try.
The Bratwurst Shop
The most exciting part of the Vic Market is easily the deli section. Before starting your weekly shop you have the opportunity to make a nuisance out of yourself, mooching around, trying as many cheeses, olives, cold meats, pickled goodies, and wines as you can without spending a penny. It's great.
Now, a word of warning; don't get too carried away.
Melbourne's best baguettes at Waffle On
Ever returned home too soon from a trip to Europe and found yourself unable to adjust? Walking around in a beret and stripy t-shirt, staring at the Arts Centre spire, squinting your eyes, trying to convince yourself it's the Eiffel Tower?
Fortunately, relief is now at hand. Delicious relief. The people at Waffle On have started making baguettes, which they bake themselves.

"I've never cared for typical fancy restaurants and eateries, and I care even less so for table manners. Give me a little bread, make it crusty, a little soft cheese, a little wine to get tight with, and then sure enough you'll find me down by the nearest cool stream on a hot summer day ‘rejoicing in our blessings'.
