On a bad day it is very hard to find any redeeming qualities to Smith Street but Cavallero is discrete and tasteful enough to balance things out. Barely recognizable from the street Cavallero provides the perfect doorway to duck into just before you think you're about to get mugged.
If a real-estate agent were to review their menu they might describe it as modern, rustic and European and charge you $500 a week for a single bedroom squat. But Cavallero doesn't pull the wool over your eyes - it's a simple case of get-what-you-pay-for.
Whether it's a sun-drenched afternoon or a cosy winter evening Cavallero is known to put a silly grin on people's faces. The kind of silly grin you only get when you're in the right place at the right time and realize that you don't want things to be any other way.
