'Where the Wild Things Are', an exhibition by Mike O'Meally
Big, beautiful, behind-the-scenes images of Where The Wild Things Are. The pictures are by Mike O'Meally, a professional skate photographer and friend of Spike Jonze's Girl Skateboards team. Large format prints and limited-run decks will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to help kids with leukaemia.

Aged 15, I once came home from my night shift at McDonald's to my dad moaning. He said he was having a heart attack. Minutes later, my grandmother arrived to take him to the hospital. A doctor, probably tired (it wasn't yet 7am) asked routine questions. Where does it hurt? Chest. What kind of pain? Painful pain.

Imagine if headphones were a cruel scam and that every time you put them on, everyone else on your train carriage could listen in and raucously dissect your simplistically pretentious taste in music. Do you like new music? Do you like new talent? Well you'll love DEMO Magazine, a kind of fanzine homage to slick type, beautiful photos and grams per square metre.
The long awaited second issue is 22 pages of editorial fashion, interviews, and giant photos of Tim Harvey. Thankfully, it doesn't rely solely on content, it's more an exercise in design and print production.

Just kidding. A few people care. More importantly, when nerdy girls grow up and blossom into cluey, weirdly intimidating alterna-hotties with amazing taste in music, I care. When you think about it, who doesn't love a girl who is equally comfortable talking about Studio Ghibli movies as she is scoring pingers at four in the morning?

Heavy Metal in Baghdad
If you haven't seen it already, Heavy Metal in Baghdad follows Iraq's first and only metal band, Acrassicauda, as it fights to stay alive in the aftermath of Saddam's overthrow. It's an incredible story and a lot of it's a total bummer. The band only gets to plays three or something gigs in five years, not for lack of enthusiasm but rather a massive surplus of bullets, bombs and rockets.
The Workers Club
The Rob Roy had carpets so sticky you could have turned the place upside down without dislodging the regulars (save for the ones in thongs). In its new incarnation, the historic fitzroy waterhole boasts a brighter veneer, flash food, and most importantly, great beer and cider on tap. Sure, the atmosphere is a lot less dive-y but let's face it; you're not all that dive-y yourself.
