Don’t let the informal setup of the Barlight Cinema at the Tote sway you anyway except in the door. The movies are usually finds that most rock aficionados would nod at in quiet acceptance. This week, The Kinks Present A Soap Opera is on the bill, presented by friend-of-The-Tote Dallas Freedman.
Millsbucks
This shop might be small and the selection limited, but what is being done here (with two and a bit tables) is being done well. Millsbucks has a seriously small menu, but at least the detail necessary to make something that appears simple is actually being watched over.
In Caledonian Lane, just a skinny-panted shuffle from Jeromes, Millbucks has light and filling Japanese based dishes for a nominal cost.
Fake Jeans from Talking About The Abstraction
In the 1800s, Levi Strauss would have had little concept of the implications of his invention. Of the jiving, the flaring, the acid-washing, the skinny legging, the denim madness that would ensue. Even less so could he, or any of us for that matter, have anticipated this new advancement. These jeans that are not jeans.
