Artists should learn to leave their work alone. Director's cut are often vanity projects or novelty acts: sometimes worrying their own work to death,like Richard Kelly's recut Donnie Darko, or sometimes just PC-gone-mad, like Spielberg replacing his guns with walkie-talkies in E.T. And it still hurts too much to talk about what George Lucas did to the 10-year-olds inside us all.

As far as high concepts go, this is up there with that bus that couldn't slow below 50 mph without exploding. Vampires on one hand; an Alaskan town that won't see the sun for an entire month on the other; the inevitable, vicious bloodshed when they meet in the middle.
30 Days Of Night is generic in the true sense of the word.
Death Proof
Producer Harvey Weinstein lived up to his Entourage doppelganger when he wailed on Kurt Russell at Cannes this year.
