If the Warner Bros. Duck Amuck clip taught us anything, there is much power in the grey lead and the pen; characters are at the mercy of their maker no matter how many times they spit, "How ‘bout some colour, stupid!" Once the biro joins forces with paper, and is driven by some serious wrist rotations, anything can happen: a white box catches on fire, a zig-zag has an orgy and the sheepish gnome of missing things tells you he doesn't know where your left sock is.

Description:
Films, pre-faded t-shirts and lunchboxes - Batman's name has been immortalised whether comic books kill him off or not. There's even a freaking party named after Batman (though it is unsure whether Melbourne's home-dawg, John Batman had anything to do with this). Whatever's in this name, the party will combust inside Roxanne this Friday.

DJ juggernaut Diplo zips in direct from Baltimore with aloot of records in his trunk. Famed for adding extra Brazilian-baile punch to beloved tracks by Santogold, M.I.A and Bonde Do Role, the beatmonger founded Mad Decent and Hollertronix DJ collective as well as helping kids learn music production during his last visit here in 2007.

Trent Whitehead's work has brought feathered, horned and hairy creatures to the canvas; that canvas being wood panelling, t-shirts for Urban Outfitters or MTV office walls. His fantastical sensibility and candy colours - bright enough they kind of swirl up if you stare at them for too long - creep into his next exhibit, Cornicopia.
